Steven Sikorski
Downtown Sioux Falls Rotary is proud to recognize Steve Sikorski as the 2025 Larry Ritz Rotarian of the Year. This honor celebrates Steve's outstanding leadership, deep commitment to service, and tireless efforts to strengthen the Rotary community.
A Rotarian for 22 years, Steve has been instrumental in the club's international service work, including more than 20 wheelchair distribution trips overseas with Hope Haven, giving children and adults a path to a more productive life. One of those trips led to a lasting connection with a Rotary club in Barlad, Romania, which brought a Romanian student to Sioux Falls for a youth exchange and led Steve to rally Downtown Rotary and clubs across the district to fund a badly needed elevator for the Barlad hospital. He has previously served as Club President, District Governor (2015-2016), and District Treasurer.
Steve is admired by his fellow Rotarians for the way he shows up, again and again, without needing recognition for it. As past president Eric Erickson shared, "You meet a lot of good Rotarians. You don't meet many like Steve. He'll fly across the world to hand somebody a wheelchair, then come back and clean picnic tables at Leif Ericson camp like it's the same job, because to him, it is."
Steve is usually the first name on the sign-up sheet for hands-on service projects, and for the past several years has personally purchased a table at the annual Law Enforcement Dinner in the club's name, bringing board members along as his guests.
