Aerostar: More Than Just Spy Balloons

Spy balloons have recently made news headlines, but did you know that those balloons used for surveillance (and a variety of other applications) are built right here in Sioux Falls? On August 14th, come learn more about Aerostar, the company that designs, manufactures, integrates and operates persistent stratospheric platforms and radar systems. Formerly part of Raven Industries, Aerostar is now repositioned for growth and expansion. Rotarian Barry Sackett will be joined by guests from Aerostar: Jim Nelson, President; and Russ Van Der Werff, Vice President of Stratospheric Solutions.

The buffet lunch will be available beginning at 11:30 am. The menu will be: Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwiches, Baked Beans, Steak Fries, Tossed Salad, Fresh Fruit, and Chef’s Dessert. RSVP is not required.

The presentation, at the club’s regular weekly meeting, will be held at the Holiday Inn City Centre, Sioux Falls and will begin at noon. All Downtown Sioux Falls Rotary Club programs are open only to Rotarians and their guests. All programs are subject to the club's Privacy Policy.
