Ag Series: Cheese, Cows, and Capital: The Dairy Surge in South Dakota
On January 5, Rotary will host a dynamic program highlighting the growth and innovation of South Dakota’s dairy industry. Jake Anderson, Plant Director at Bel Brands USA in Brookings, will discuss the company’s expansion to double production of its iconic Mini Babybel® cheese wheels (cheese will be included with lunch!). Tim Czmowski, recently retired from Agropur, will share insights from his leadership in tripling production at the Lake Norden plant, a move that added $1 billion to the local economy. Tim den Dulk, a dairy producer and processor, will speak about his vertically integrated operations across the state. The program will also feature visual insights that will offer a broader perspective on the industry’s impact. Gov. Dennis Daugaard will serve as our moderator for the program.
The buffet lunch will be available beginning at 11:30 am. The menu will be announced soon.
The presentation, at the club’s regular weekly meeting, will be held at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance in Sioux Falls and will begin at noon. All Downtown Sioux Falls Rotary Club programs are open only to Rotarians and their guests. All programs are subject to the club's Privacy Policy. Local media are invited to attend to record the session.
