August 4

Weekly Meeting

Navy Week

The U.S. Navy is returning in a big way to Sioux Falls on August 4-10th for Navy Week. Navy Week is part of a nationwide outreach program to have Navy sailors engage in a number of performances, educational events, and service projects as part of the week-long event. Downtown Rotary is proud to host Rear Admiral Michael S. Wosje and Sioux Falls stationed, Lt. Commander Nate Hess for a conversation moderated by Ret. USAF Brigadier General and Rotarian Ron Mielke.

Rear Admiral Wosje, a Sioux Falls native, is the former instructor of Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and Commander, Carrier Strike Group ONE. He was recently named the Director, Air Warfare for the U.S. Navy. Please join us as we have a conversation covering a wide range of topics from global geopolitical tensions, the state of our military both nationally and locally, and leadership thoughts in a volatile time.

The buffet lunch will be available beginning at 11:30 am. The menu will be: Pork Stir Fry, Egg Rolls, and Salad Bar.

The presentation, at the club’s regular weekly meeting, will be held at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance in Sioux Falls and will begin at noon. All Downtown Sioux Falls Rotary Club programs are open only to Rotarians and their guests. All programs are subject to the club's Privacy Policy. Local media are invited to attend to record the session.
