November 20

Weekly Meeting

Restoring Hope Through Community Resources

Join us for an important conversation on Monday, November 20th as we focus on available resources for the homeless in our community. Rotarian Laura Arnett will moderate a panel discussion to dive deeper into understanding the challenges faced by several local nonprofits in their efforts to serve the homeless population and how The Sioux Empire United Way partners in those efforts. Our panelists, with an impressive history of nonprofit servitude, will provide up-to-date information on the current state of homelessness, what they see at the greatest needs in our community and how we, as Downtown Rotarians, can help. Panelists will be: Julie Becker, Executive Director of St. Francis House; Eric Weber, Chief Executive Officer at Union Gospel Mission- Sioux Falls; and Rotarian Alan H. Turner II, President & CEO of Sioux Empire United Way.

The buffet lunch will be available beginning at 11:30 am. The menu will be: Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Stuffing, Corn, Tossed Salad and Dessert. RSVP is not required.

The presentation, at the club’s regular weekly meeting, will be held at the Holiday Inn City Centre, Sioux Falls and will begin at noon. All Downtown Sioux Falls Rotary Club programs are open only to Rotarians and their guests. All programs are subject to the club's Privacy Policy. Local media are invited to attend to record the session.
