Just for Kicks: Soccer in the Sioux Falls Community

Soccer is thriving across the Sioux Falls community It is taking shape through high‑level competitive and pre‑professional programs, adaptive soccer for youth with cognitive disabilities, and neighborhood leagues where families play for free and share a meal. Rotarian James Oppenheimer will moderate a panel that brings together representatives from a few distinct organizations to offer an update on how the world’s game is rapidly expanding its reach and impact in Sioux Falls. Joining the conversation will be: Rotarian Russell Finch (Executive Director, Dakota Alliance Soccer Club), Randell Beck (Founder, YMCA Neighborhood Soccer League) and Rotarian Sherri Meyers (She-E-O, Sioux Falls City Football Club).

The buffet lunch begins at 11:30 am. The menu will be: Build Your Own Taco Bowls or Nachos

  • Cilantro-Lime Rice or Mexican Rice
  • Beef Barbacoa or Creamy Taco Chicken
  • Toppings: Black Beans, Flame-roasted Sweet Corn, Roasted Grape Tomatoes, Shredded Cheese, Vegetable Fajitas, Queso, Guacamole, Sour Cream, Salsa
  • Crisp Tortilla Shells and Tortilla Chips

The presentation, at the club’s regular weekly meeting, will be held at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance in Sioux Falls and will begin at noon. All Downtown Sioux Falls Rotary Club programs are open only to Rotarians and their guests. All programs are subject to the club's Privacy Policy. Local media are invited to attend to record the session.
