Weekly Meeting

South Dakota Blockchain Institute – The South Dakota Advantage

On Monday, October 30th, Rotarian Barry Sackett will moderate a discussion with the leaders of the new South Dakota Blockchain Institute. Panelists include: Dr. Ashley Podhradsky, VP for Research & Development at DSU; Ben Wiener, CEO of Benaiah Capital; Jodi Mettler, President of BitGo Trust; Kyle Pickner, Public Trust Compliance Officer with Crypto.com; and Brittany McKnight, Assistant Professor of Business Law at SDSU.

South Dakota Blockchain Institute was established in late 2021 to advocate, educate, and position South Dakota at the forefront of a wave of growth and opportunity associated with blockchain technology. The institute is comprised of thought leaders and experts in industries that are, or will be, directly impacted by blockchain technology, digital assets, machine learning, and artificial intelligence—all part of the innovations occurring in the build out of Web3. They are passionate about protecting our already established industries and laying the groundwork for accepting and advancing this technology in our state.

The buffet lunch will be available beginning at 11:30 am. The menu will be: Fried Chicken, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Chicken Gravy, Chef’s Choice Vegetable, Tossed Salad and Dessert. RSVP is not required.

The presentation, at the club’s regular weekly meeting, will be held at the Holiday Inn City Centre, Sioux Falls and will begin at noon. All Downtown Sioux Falls Rotary Club programs are open only to Rotarians and their guests. All programs are subject to the club's Privacy Policy. Local media are invited to attend to record the session.
