February 26
Weekly Meeting
The Sounds & Impact of the South Dakota Symphony
Now in his 20th anniversary season as music director of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, Delta David Gier has been nationally recognized as ‘the model of an engaged conductor.’ What does community engagement mean for the symphony orchestra? How has the SDSO become relevant in Sioux Falls and throughout the state – beyond its mainstage concerts? Our Monday, February 26th program features Maestro Gier in conversation with Rotarian Scott Lawrence, with music performed by the SDSO’s nine full-time musicians.
The buffet lunch will be available beginning at 11:30 am. The
menu will be: Chicken Bacon Ranch Tortellini, Chef’s Vegetable, Garlic Toast, Tossed Salad & Dessert. RSVP and online payment is required by 5 pm on Wednesday, February 21st. If you miss the deadline, please still join us for Rotary, but lunch will not be available.
The presentation, at the club’s regular weekly meeting, will be held at the Holiday Inn City Centre, Sioux Falls and will begin at noon. All Downtown Sioux Falls Rotary Club programs are open only to Rotarians and their guests. All programs are subject to the club's Privacy Policy. Local media are invited to attend to record the session.
