Tell us a little bit about yourself (hometown, family, hobbies, fun facts):

I grew up in Sioux Falls and I’m a proud graduate of Washington High School. My family consists of my wife (Ashley), our two boys (Max & Chase), and our yellow lab (Kirby). We’re also expecting our 3rd child this Fall. I’ve got a competitive spirit, and I’m still active in softball, pickleball, and basketball - even though I’m quickly turning into the old guy on the court. My biggest passion is hunting. My family is fortunate enough to have a few acres in central South Dakota where we’ve hunted pheasants for as long as I can remember.

Why did you join Rotary Club of Downtown Sioux Falls?

Rotary quickly became one of my favorite clubs to be active in. The topics discussed are presented in a thoughtful and balanced way, and are always timely topics impacting our community. The people that are active in Downtown Rotary are so gracious with their time. Whether they’re serving the organization itself to ensure we put on a quality program each week, making an impact in the community, or sharing their insights on each subject discussed each week.

How has joining Rotary helped you develop/grow in your career? (OR if you are a new member, what are you looking forward to most?)

I benefit from Rotary because we equip our members with knowledge on relevant topics that are being discussed in the community, and I’ve been given the chance to connect with a wide array of individuals who serve our community in a multitude of ways.

Are you on any Rotary committees? If so, explain the value you have gotten from joining a committee.

I’ve recently accepted the privilege of joining the Downtown Rotary board, and look forward to serving in that capacity.

What other clubs/boards/nonprofits are you involved with?

I’m active in Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) regional executive committee, I serve on the Junior Achievement Regional Champions, and a member of the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation Fund Development Committee

What would you tell someone that is considering joining Rotary Club of Downtown Sioux Falls?

If you’re someone who enjoys following the local news and being around others who take an active interest in the issues that are impacting the community you’ll appreciate how Downtown Rotary works hard to keep our members informed on a variety of topics.
