Downtown Rotary Partners with The Pad Party for January Product Drive

Downtown Rotarians are encouraged to bring pads, tampons, and incontinence products to any weekly Monday meeting throughout January. Items contributed throughout the drive will go toward The Pad Party's 14th annual menstrual product drive to benefit The Banquet and The Promising Futures Fund. The collected items will be redistributed to local shelters, organizations supporting women and families, and Title I schools in Sioux Falls.

“We are grateful to area Rotarians for supporting the cause and to our small business community for donating event space and drop-off locations,” says Pad Party co-founder Brienne Maner. “This year, our goal is to deliver at least 40,000 products to The Banquet and collect $10,000 in donations which will be used to support Title I schools and replenish product supply throughout the year.”

Community members interested in contributing can also participate by dropping off items at any of the below locations between January 6 - 15:

  • The Source Coffee Roastery + Taproom – 421 N Phillips Ave. Suite 101
  • Elegant Mommy – 207 W 37th Street
  • The Breaks Coffee Roasting Co. – 311 E 12th Street
  • Sioux Falls Food Co+op – 207 W 37th Street
  • Look's Marketplace – 500 E 69th Street

This effort coincides with Martin Luther King Jr. Day; a time when thousands of Americans participate in service projects in communities across the nation. In addition to the weeks-long drive, The Pad Party will be hosting a drop-off event on MLK Day on January 15 from 4-7 pm at The Source Coffee Roastery + Taproom (421 N Phillips Ave Suite 101). Community members interested can bring menstrual products and/or cash donations to The Source and enjoy a hot or cold beverage and time spent with community members who care. Kids are also welcome.
